Online Pacemaker Finalist

It's the first time for us.

There's a category for Pacemaker finalists and their online counterparts. We're already a print finalist, but we weren't aware of of an online award until a few days ago.

I noticed several links coming from studentpress.org in Google Analytics. I followed the link and found an "Online-only/Broadcast/Magazine/Yearbook" section that mentions us as a 2009 ACP Online Pacemaker Finalist.

We're mentioned with several very talented journalism institutions, including:

the217 - A publication of the Illini Media Company (which also handles the Illio), the 217 covers news, art and music in the Champaign-Urbana area in Illinois.

Flux - Flux is a student magazine at the University of Oregon. Their Web site follows a very simple design that's shrouded in darkness with neon colors for text. It produces a really edgy effect, especially for stories like that boy who never washed his jeans.

So, there you go. We scored another award. And this one's got Web all over it.

Pacemaker Finalist!!

We just found out that we are a Pacemaker Finalist again! This is the second year in a row that we have been a finalist, and we could not be more excited! This award is the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize for collegiate student media, so to be nominated for it is a HUGE honor!

This just shows that we are continuing to raise the quality of the book, and that all our hard work is paying off.
